Connected Car Network Transforming the Transportation Industry.

To improve road safety and to help build the infrastructure for self driving cars, government and private companies are coming together to build connected-car platforms. The Utah government has partnered with Panasonic on the smart road network. They will be working on installing sensors on road. These will collect and transmit data that will alert vehicles, staff and control traffic signal as well. CIRRUS,an IoT application program is the data platform used that assists data sharing among transport departments, network operations and vehicle information systems using V2X as a data source. This emerging technology will make roads safer and less congested.Carmakers too are working on the connected car network to incorporate them into their self driving cars. The market for vehicle connectivity is predicted to be huge. Read more at: https://www.aitrends.com/selfdrivingcars/connected-car-platforms-making-headway-microsoft-taking-a-lead-role/

Big Data and Trends

A large number of tables with thousands of rows and columns. Data keeps flowing in from multiple live sources and is rapidly changing . This is what characterizes Big Data. Datasets are becoming vast and hence more complex for analysis. Without the correct tools,it would be difficult to use this data to draw insights. In this regard, three trends have come to the forefront- IoT,querying techniques and cloud computing. The advent of IoT has digitised everything. There are sensors and wires that chanel data which is then manipulated and analyzed to get results.Querying data i.e. extracting information from data is the first step before analysis and Cloud has come to play a major role in data storage. The three trends connected have paved a path for growth in technology.

Exposing the capabilities of AI, IoT and Blockchain

AI is in the way of setting its roots in every company. AI got its mass recognition and acceptance when different startups initiated its deployment in their businesses. Different sensors, reliable networks and intelligent analytics have enhanced IoT in a fantastic manner. Recently, Government of India announced a 13-digit mobile number that power IoT to GSM. And the ministry of electronics and IT are going to implement more such functional devices. Blockchains are somehow associated with cryptocurrency and that’s the reason companies are using a it for fraud control and patent tracking.  But, financial services along with banks and insurers are trying with blockchain technology to develop a useful common customer repository.

Internet of Things: Need of proper guidance

Author, Philip Piletic, in his article link clearly states the fact that with the advancement in Internet, Internet of Things (IoT) is also reaching endless possibilities. Yes, there are many perks of IoT but in some situation, we need proper security. In some cases, it may act like an open door to a secured network, since IoT devices are also directly connected to the internet. Most of the IoT devices, like Mobile Phones, Smart TVs, etc., always keep collecting private data of a user which is sent back to the manufacturer, that have some threat. Therefore, it is necessary for proper guidelines to be set up for manufacturers about using the user’s data. Read more at:

Can IoT dodge the barriers ?

The basic premise behind the IoT is to connect everyday objects to the internet through tiny sensors, allowing them to communicate with businesses, consumers, and each other.

While hearing about the Internet of Things doesn’t necessarily signify a consumer would not use an item connected to the IoT, the survey results show a lack of awareness and understanding about what can be gained from it.

The Internet of Things sounds good in principle, giving consumers unparalleled convenience and access to the latest technology, but there is one requirement that can’t be ignored: the internet.

One idea for the Internet of Things is to place sensors on roads, traffic lights, utility grids, and buildings, but doing so represents an expensive venture.

Big data analytics in agriculture

Many data analytics firms are working for the betterment of the farmers. These companies integrate satellite, weather, and IoT analytics with the agricultural sector. They use its proprietary machine learning and parallel computing techniques, to resolve complex relationships like crop growth and soil health. Using analytics farmers can opt for a smart sampling procedure using satellite – based crop clustering techniques, which reduces the time for identification of these plots and optimize their locations. While the former requires timely crop intelligence, crop insurance companies need highly accurate assessment of risk. The satellite imaging analytics serves two purposes: First, it ensures that the farmers receive a fair and immediate compensation for crop loss due to adverse climatic conditions. Second, it enables insurers to settle claims speedily due to the availability of data in near-real time without any manual intervention. Read more at: https://yourstory.com/2017/05/satsure/

Big Data analytics changing the aviation Industry

Big Data analytics changing the aviation Industry

In the aviation industry, aircraft maintenance and safety is always on high priority. With the increase in air traffic and air passengers, aircraft maintenance and repair firms are utilizing predictive analytics integrated with the Internet of Things (IoT) to predict component failures and pilot stress level. Firms are developing a solution that can predict the likelihood of a component failure which can help to replace the part before it fails. In future, by analyzing breathing patterns of pilots before they board the flight, will help to monitor the stress level. Artificial Intelligence and cloud technology

To get the raw data, processed through the Artificial Intelligence models, the data has to be uploaded on a cloud. But there are privacy issues or time wastage in uploading data on cloud and retrieving back. Internet connection is a must. So to eradicate these problems, researchers have developed a chip that could bring AI to the hardware like smart phones, sensors or other mobile devices. These have very large neural networks, which can process data then and there. This means without having access to Wi-Fi or other connections, users can get meaningful insights rather than just the raw collected data. This technology will be of great help in the field of Internet of Things. To know more, follow: http://electronicdesign.com/iot/artificial-intelligence-gets-its-head-out-cloud

LiFi will revolutionize IoT and Big Data

Enormous demand of Wi-Fi has led to transmission of billions of bytes of data every day. Researchers have predicted that by 2019 mobile devices will exchange 35 quintillion bytes of information every month. This is just for mobile devices, just consider computers, IOT devices and you can get an idea how much data will be transferred. But our traditional Wi-Fi can't handle this entire load. So scientists have discovered a new technology known as LiFi. It uses light as a means of data transmission. Using LiFi we can send 224 gigabits per second. They can be also used in healthcare facilities. The idea that light can pass through walls can increase security because one has to be physically present in the room to access the data.
